(Before and After)

This is a 39-year-old woman, a mother of two children. After two pregnancies there was a large diastasis (a great distance) of the straight abdominal muscles, which conditioned the “still pregnant” appearance that she had until the date when the surgery was performed (about a year after the last delivery).

This woman underwent two procedures in a single surgery – liposuction of the flanks and abdominoplasty with correction of the rectus abdominus:

• Abdominoplasty – To remove stretch marks and some localized fat, correct flaccidity and diastasis (pulling away) of the straight abdominal muscles. This surgery consists of a plicature of the muscles (which translates into a better definition of the waist and has the effect of an internal girdle) and resection of the excess skin, with the transposition of the navel.
• Liposuction – To better define the contour of the back, a Vibroliposuction was performed, using the tumescent technique.

Post-surgery

In the post-surgical phase, it is necessary to rest, avoid strenuous activity, use a compression girdle, and perform lymphatic drainages.
