What is Nordlys Laser ?
O Nordlys Laser Candela is an advanced medical platform that combines three complementary technologies, enabling a complete and personalised approach to skin care. These technologies are:

IPL Ellipse / Nd:YAG / Frax
1. IPL Ellipse (VL, PR and PL)
IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) uses controlled pulses of light to treat signs of ageing, sun damage and other skin problems.
This system provides visible skin improvements for both the upper and lower layers and revitalises skin molecules, with results that have been clinically proven for over 20 years.
With minimal discomfort, IPL can keep your skin looking young, even as you age.

2. Nd:YAG laser
The Nd:YAG laser (1064 nm) is indicated for the treatment of vascular lesions such as strokes, telangiectasias and small varicose veins.
This is an aesthetic procedure that uses laser energy to close the dilated blood vessels that cause strokes.
Main indications:
- Treatment of varicose veins;
- Treatment of telangiectasias (thin, reddish veins that appear on the skin, usually on the legs, face and breasts).
Laser treatment for vascular strokes is a safe and effective procedure, with visible results in just a few weeks. The number of sessions required varies according to the size and location of the strokes, but generally 2 to 3 sessions are needed.
3. Frax Fractional Laser
Frax (1550 nm and 1940 nm) is a non-ablative fractionated laser that performs controlled skin resurfacing, stimulating collagen production and promoting skin renewal.
Improves skin texture, firmness and luminosity, reducing fine wrinkles, scars and enlarged pores.
Main indications:
- Facial rejuvenation and improved skin firmness;
- Treatment of scars and fine wrinkles;
- Reduces pores and evens out skin texture.
SESSIONS AND RECOVERY
Each session lasts between 20 to 45 minutes, depending on the area and the protocol defined.
The results are visible from the first sessions, with progressive improvement over the following weeks.
After treatment, it is common to feel slight redness or warmth, which disappears within a few hours.
It is essential to avoid direct sun exposure and apply daily sun protection.
The clinical team may recommend complementary care to enhance the results.

Doctor with an Integrated Master's Degree in Medicine from Faculty of Medical Sciences of the New University of Lisbon (FCML), specialising in Radioncology at the Portuguese Institute of Oncology, Francisco Gentil (IPO).
Between 2010-2013 he worked at MD Anderson Cancer Centre (MDACC), in Texas, by the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and National Cancer Institute (INCA), in Rio de Janeiro.
In 2014 he was a Hospital Assistant at the IPO and since 2015 he has been a hospital assistant at the University Hospital Centre of Central Lisbon (CHULC).
In 2020 she graduated in Aesthetic Medicine from the Portuguese Society of Aesthetic and Cosmetic Medicine (SPMEc).

Dr Carolina Saldanha Medo completed her Integrated Master's Degree in Medicine at the University of Lisbon. Faculty of Medicine, University of Lisbon in 2019 and the General Practice Internship in 2025.
Her dedication to a global approach to wellbeing led her to the field of Aesthetic Medicine, where she completed postgraduate studies in Aesthetic Medicine at the University of Alcalá, in 2020. She has also completed further training in hormonal balance and longevity.
Dr Carolina believes that true aesthetics is born from balance and that each intervention must respect the individuality and natural harmony of each face.

He completed his Master's Degree in Medicine at Masaryk University Medical School in Brno and graduated in Aesthetic Medicine and Anti-Aging at the Complutense University Madrid.
During his career, he has been trained in minimally invasive procedures, particularly in the application of Toxin, Facial Fillers, Tensor Threads and Facial Mesotherapy, thus differentiating itself in the treatment and prevention of skin ageing.
