- In the facial area we carried out a Blepharoplasty, to remove excess skin, a Fat Grafting in the facial area to increase its volume and improve its appearance, and a Facial harmonisation with hyaluronic acid fillers and Botulinum toxin application, to achieve a more rejuvenated facial appearance.
- In terms of the body, we carried out a Lipoabdominoplasty in the abdomen and flank area, to eliminate localised fat, remove excess skin and fat from the abdomen and to reposition the muscles of the abdominal wall, improving Maria José's body contour and proportion. She was also fitted with Scar Removal Expander in the cleavage area, resulting from a serious accident that Maria José suffered as a child, and a Breast Augmentation, For a fuller neckline and a more harmonious body contour.
Maria José's story
Maria José, 42, lives in Beja and is a hospital assistant by profession.
Her life was marked by tragedy. She dreamed of a makeover in order to mitigate the after-effects of a serious accident she suffered at the age of 10, which left her with a burnt face and part of her body, and deep scars throughout her life.
Since the day of the accident, she has had more than 30 operations, most of them to treat the “thicker” scars from the burns, but over the years she has come to terms with her appearance. During her teenage years she suffered from bullying, she felt looked down on, inferior, and was bullied at school, which led to her becoming socially isolated, she has had practically no romantic relationships, and the few she has had have also ended in tragedy, and she has lived without self-esteem for as long as she can remember. She had small interventions, but her budget didn't allow her to go any further. In addition to the after-effects of the accident, she had two caesarean sections, which made her even more insecure about her body, especially her abdomen.
At a certain point, Maria José came to us and we quickly decided to help her and immediately went ahead with the aesthetic and surgical treatments. Plastic surgery allows for improvement, not perfection. Unfortunately, it also has its limits and can't solve every problem. Sometimes there are issues that benefit more from good make-up than from plastic surgery. In this case, the important thing is that we helped Maria José realise the makeover she had dreamed of within our reach, and that's everything to us!

Licensed by Lisbon Medical School, It was at this institution that she took her Master's degree in Human Sexuality and is currently working on her PhD.
She has been a member of the faculty's teaching staff since 2008, as Assistant Professor at the Institute of Anatomy. It is in this unit that she produces most of her research projects, essentially in the area of surgical anatomy, and she is also the supervisor of master's theses.

He collaborates in various research projects in NOVA Medical School.
